Duncan Eagles is a London based saxophonist who performs regularly around the UK and Europe at venues and festivals such as Ronnie Scotts, the 606 Club, Brecon Jazz Festival, The Spitz, The Forge, The Vortex, Pizza Express Jazz Club, The Hideaway, Cheltenham International Jazz Festival, Vancouver International Jazz Festival, Marlborough Jazz Festival, Charlie Wrights, Silda Jazz Festival (Norway) and The Paris Cat (Melbourne).
Duncan studied at Trinity College Of Music in London, where he had the opportunity to study with many notable UK and international musicians. While studying at Trinity he won the “Spike Robinson Saxophone Award”.
After meeting London bass player Gary Crosby Duncan became involved in the Tomorrow’s Warriors programme and was part of the Quartet that hosted the monthly jam sessions and was also a member of the Tomorrow’s Warriors Jazz Orchestra.
Most recently Duncan joined British vocalist Ola Onabule’s touring band that regularly performs at major International Jazz Festivals around the World. Ola is launching a new album this year that already has a number of shows coming up this year around the UK and Europe.
Duncan’s main project at the moment is his trio “Partikel” which he writes, performs and rehearses regularly with. The band features two up-and-coming London based musicians: Max Luthert (Bass) and Eric Ford (Drums). Partikel have released 2 albums and the latest CD is called “Cohesion” and its out now on Whirlwind recordings. The band finished a major UK tour to support the album at the end of last year and are now looking forward to developing some new material for a new record and some European touring at the end of this year.
Duncan runs the Jazz Workshops and Jam Session at the Hideaway Jazz Club in Streatham every Monday night from 7pm
